Naproxen works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Naproxen Warning: avoid if you are allergic or have shown any hypersensitivity reactions e.g. nasal polyps, swelling, developed a rash. Avoid if have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to NSAID therapy, have an active or previous peptic ulcer. Do not use if you have a history of asthma, any problem related to the liver, kidney or heart condition.
On the first day 2 tablets (500 mg) should be taken initially and then one tablet (250 mg) after 6 to 8 hours if needed. On the second and third day, if needed, one tablet (250mg) should be taken every 6 to 8 hours. Not more than 3 tablets to be taken per day.
The maximum duration of continuous treatment in any one cycle (period) is 3 days.

Like all medicines, Naproxen Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects reported include: heartburn, indigestion, constipation, stomach ache, feeling sick or being sick, gaseous bowels.
