Photo Guidance for Weight-Loss Consultations
To support safe, evidence-based prescribing, The Care Pharmacy may ask you to upload a recent photo during your weight-loss consultation. This helps our clinical team make informed decisions for treatments such as Mounjaro or Wegovy.
1. Why we ask for a photo
- Confirm your identity as part of our clinical governance checks
- Support accurate Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment
- Prescribe safely in line with GPhC and MHRA guidance
2. What your photo should include
Please make sure your photo meets the following:
- Full-length, front-facing: Head to toe, standing straight, ideally against a plain background
- Recent: Taken within the last 14 days
- Clear and well lit: Avoid shadows, filters, or low light
- Face visible: No sunglasses, hats, or face coverings
- Neutral stance: Arms by your sides, no exaggerated poses
Example images we may request
Identity Check Photo
A passport photo or driving licence where you hold the ID next to your face.

Scales Photo
A photo of you standing on scales with the numbers clearly visible.

Full-Length Mirror Photo
A full-body photo taken in front of a mirror. If possible, ask someone else to take the picture for you.

3. Optional additional photo
In some cases, we may request a side-profile image to further support BMI estimation or clinical review.
4. How to upload
You’ll be prompted to upload your photo securely during the consultation. Accepted file formats:
- JPEG (.jpg)
- PNG (.png)
- HEIC (.heic)
- Maximum file size: 10 MB
5. Data privacy and security
All images are stored securely and accessed only by our licensed clinical team. We handle personal data in line with GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
