If you’re experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI), The Care Pharmacy can help. Our NHS Pharmacy First service provides quick access to treatment without the need to see your GP.

This service is designed to support women experiencing symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI, such as a burning sensation when urinating, frequent urge to urinate, or cloudy urine. Our pharmacists can assess your symptoms and, if appropriate, provide treatment on the NHS.
This service is suitable for non-pregnant women aged 16 to 64 with symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI. It is not suitable for men, pregnant women, or those with recurrent or complex urinary symptoms. You may be referred to your GP or other services if necessary.

Our pharmacist will conduct a brief consultation to assess your symptoms and rule out any complications. If appropriate, you may be offered NHS treatment, such as antibiotics, or provided self-care advice and over-the-counter remedies.
Most uncomplicated UTIs clear up quickly with the right treatment. You may notice improvement within 24–48 hours after starting medication. It’s important to complete the full course of antibiotics if prescribed. If symptoms persist or worsen, further investigation may be required.
