The Care Pharmacy lists 84 generic orlistat 120mg capsules at £39.99. Asda Online Doctor lists the matching pack at £44, and Superdrug Online Doctor at £49.99. The first figure is the lowest medicine price in this three-provider sample, but it is not our delivered price.
Our £3.99 standard delivery makes the total £43.98. Asda advertises free standard delivery, making its total £44. The difference between those two worked totals is only 2p. Choosing a service should therefore involve more than the apparent £4.01 gap between the pack prices.
The Care Pharmacy sells orlistat and produced this comparison. We checked advertised offers without promotional codes. These figures do not establish the cheapest UK provider or the cost of treatment for every patient.

Read the strength and capsule count together. The comparison excludes branded Xenical and 60mg pharmacy products, which have different prices and supply routes. A “from” figure for a larger bundle should not be placed beside the cost of one 84-capsule box.
These are public medicine or treatment-pack figures before separately charged fees. We have not assumed Superdrug delivery is free or converted its £49.99 price into a final total without verified terms. Confirm the amount payable for your own order after assessment.

Our delivery policy says free standard delivery applies to orders over £40. A £39.99 pack does not qualify. Rounding it to “about £40” and removing delivery would give the wrong comparison.
Request the quantity agreed with your clinician. Adding extra treatment can increase the overall bill even when it removes the delivery charge.
These examples use standard advertised charges rather than completed invoices. Premium postage or changed terms may alter the total. Allow for clinical review and dispatch time as well as the carrier’s delivery estimate.
An 84-capsule pack contains 28 days of treatment only if the prescribed schedule uses three capsules each day. It is not automatically a calendar month, and the number actually taken depends on the instructions about meals. Follow the prescription and leaflet rather than taking a fixed number to finish the box.
Orlistat is used with a reduced-calorie eating plan. The 120mg instructions link doses to main meals containing fat; a dose is omitted when a meal is missed or contains no fat. Your clinician or pharmacist can explain how that applies to your routine.
For budgeting, record the agreed review date and quantity instead of multiplying a retailer’s monthly label. Unit figures are rounded for reading. Use the original pack price to calculate a total: multiplying 48p by 84 will not exactly reproduce £39.99. Adding one delivery charge also changes the unit cost of a single order.
Superdrug lists three 84-capsule packs at £144.99 in the offers checked. That is a different upfront purchase from one box and needs a separate quantity decision. We have not presented it as an alternative that every patient can order or as a reason to extend treatment without review.
If a service advertises a subscription, look at the repeat amount, review process and cancellation terms. A first-order discount should not be treated as a permanent treatment cost. None of our table prices relies on membership or an introductory promotion.
Orlistat is the active ingredient. Xenical is a brand of the 120mg medicine, while lower-strength 60mg products need their own comparison. A lower price on a 60mg box does not mean you have found the same prescribed supply for less.
Likewise, twice as many lower-strength capsules are not a self-directed substitute for 120mg treatment. Different products have their own instructions and eligibility requirements. Ask a pharmacist or prescriber about a suitable option if cost is a barrier.

Ask at the start when progress will be reviewed and what would lead to treatment being continued, changed or stopped. NHS guidance describes reviewing orlistat after 12 weeks and usually continuing only when the required weight loss has been achieved. Your clinician will apply the relevant criteria to your circumstances.
Practical support matters too. Check how to report side effects, discuss eating habits and obtain advice between supplies. If a lower-priced service cannot meet a support need you have, that belongs in your decision alongside the medicine price.

Oily stools, wind and urgency can occur, especially with fatty meals. Orlistat is unsuitable in some conditions, including chronic malabsorption and cholestasis, and should not be used in pregnancy.
