Your Insomnia Treatment Options

Quviviq® (daridorexant) is a prescription-only medicine licensed to treat adults with insomnia, where symptoms have been present for at least three months and have a considerable impact on daytime functioning. It works differently from traditional sleeping tablets: rather than sedating you, Quviviq® blocks orexin, the brain chemical that keeps you awake and alert. By dialling down this “wake” signal, it helps you fall asleep more easily and stay asleep through the night, without the grogginess often associated with older sleep medications. Available in 25mg and 50mg doses, Quviviq® is designed for short-term use alongside good sleep habits, and the right dose will be determined during your consultation. It is not suitable for everyone, so our pharmacy team will review your suitability before any treatment is prescribed.

Fall Asleep Faster
Insomnia treatments help calm an overactive mind and relax the body, reducing the time it takes to drift off. By supporting your natural sleep signals, they make it easier to settle down at bedtime instead of lying awake for hours.

Stay Asleep
They help you maintain deeper, more continuous sleep through the night, reducing the frequency of waking. This supports a more restorative sleep cycle, so you spend less time staring at the ceiling in the early hours.

Wake Refreshed
By improving both the length and quality of your sleep, these treatments help you wake feeling rested rather than groggy. Better sleep supports improved mood, concentration, and energy levels throughout your day.
