How to take Quviviq
The usual adult dose is one 50mg tablet each night. A 25mg dose may be prescribed if you have moderate liver impairment or take certain interacting medicines.

- Taking it with a large meal may delay how quickly it works

Important safety information
Who should not take Quviviq
Do not take Quviviq if you are allergic to daridorexant or any other ingredient, or if you have narcolepsy. It is not recommended if you have severe liver problems, or if you take strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin or ritonavir. Quviviq is not licensed for anyone under 18.
Tell your prescriber before starting
Let us know if you have any liver problems, a history of depression or thoughts of self-harm, a history of drug or alcohol misuse, breathing difficulties such as severe COPD or sleep apnoea, or if you are over 65 with a history of falls. Also tell us if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, as Quviviq is not recommended during pregnancy.
Driving, alcohol and other medicines
Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Quviviq affects you, and avoid these activities if you have slept for fewer than seven hours. Alcohol should be avoided completely. Quviviq should not be combined with other sleeping tablets. Always tell us about every medicine you take, including anything bought without a prescription.
Storage and disposal
Store below 30°C in the original blister pack, out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack. Return any unused tablets to a pharmacy for safe disposal rather than putting them in household waste.
