Compare lymecycline packs within a reviewed acne plan

Lymecycline prices for 28 generic 408mg capsules range from £13.80 to £20 in this UK sample before separate fees. This guide matches the capsule count and strength, separates combination treatment packages and explains why a lower unit price should not determine antibiotic course length.

The quick answer: compare standalone 28-capsule packs

The Care Pharmacy lists 28 generic lymecycline 408mg capsules at £20. Dr Fox lists the same strength and quantity at £13.80, and Cloud Pharmacy at £17.49. Those are advertised pack prices before any separately charged fees.

With the standard charges we could verify, our single-pack total is £23.99 and Dr Fox’s is £18.70. Cloud’s £17.49 row is a medicine-price figure only; we have not assumed a delivery charge or treated it as a verified final total.

The Care Pharmacy sells lymecycline and produced this guide. This is a dated sample of public offers, without discount codes or completed purchases. It does not establish the cheapest UK provider or recommend antibiotic treatment for every person with acne.

Lymecycline prices for 408mg, 28 capsules

Generic lymecycline: standalone medicine packs · 15 October 2026
Provider Strength and quantity Advertised pack price
The Care Pharmacy 408mg · 28 capsules £20.00
Dr Fox 408mg · 28 capsules £13.80
Cloud Pharmacy 408mg · 28 capsules £17.49

The word “standalone” describes the pack price, not a recommendation to treat acne with an oral antibiotic alone. An appropriate acne plan can include a separate topical treatment, which may add to the total cost. Ask what the complete prescribed regimen includes.

We have excluded offers that bundle lymecycline with another medicine from the table. A combined capsule-and-gel package cannot be fairly ranked against a capsule-only price without separating its contents and charges. The treatment plan should come first; the price comparison follows that plan.

Lymecycline prices with standard charges

One 28-capsule order: worked examples · 15 October 2026
Provider Pack Separate standard charges Total
The Care Pharmacy £20.00 £3.99 delivery £23.99
Dr Fox £13.80 £2 prescription + £2.90 delivery £18.70

The difference between these worked totals is £5.29. It is based on the public medicine prices and standard fee terms checked, rather than completed checkout invoices. Premium delivery, an additional prescribed product or revised terms may alter your amount.

Our delivery policy gives free standard delivery on orders over £40. One £20 pack is below that threshold. Do not assume two packs qualify either: £40 exactly is not over £40, and a prescriber must agree the quantity regardless of postage.

Confirm the full cost after assessment, including any topical treatment recommended alongside the capsules. A low antibiotic price alone does not describe the cost of the whole acne plan.

Lymecycline prices for larger packs

Other verified generic pack sizes · 15 October 2026
Provider Pack Medicine price Approximate unit cost
Dr Fox 28 × 408mg £13.80 49p
Dr Fox 84 × 408mg £31.00 37p
Cloud Pharmacy 28 × 408mg £17.49 62p
Cloud Pharmacy 56 × 408mg £30.98 55p

The Care Pharmacy option compared here contains 28 capsules. Larger packs elsewhere have a higher upfront cost and need a separate quote for the agreed quantity.

For example, an 84-capsule pack has three times the capsules of a 28-pack, with a higher upfront price even when each capsule costs less. That arithmetic does not determine whether 84 capsules should be supplied or whether treatment should continue for that long.

Unit figures are rounded. Calculate the actual bill from the pack price and verified charges, and compare the quantity agreed with your clinician. Do not buy more antibiotic merely to reduce delivery or avoid a review.

Why Tetralysal 300 needs a clear label

Tetralysal 300 is a branded lymecycline product. Its “300” refers to the equivalent tetracycline content, while the capsule contains lymecycline 408mg. The different numbers should not be interpreted as a straightforward stronger-versus-weaker price comparison.

The main table uses generic 408mg capsules, with the brand kept outside the ranking. If your prescription or previous supply says Tetralysal, ask the pharmacist to explain the proposed product rather than assuming a generic listing describes a different dose.

The Tetralysal patient leaflet explains the capsule contents and warnings. Read the leaflet in the medicine actually supplied, because manufacturer details and inactive ingredients can vary. A product photograph is not a guarantee of the generic manufacturer you will receive.

Budget for the full acne course and review

Twenty-eight capsules last 28 days only under a prescribed one-capsule-daily schedule. That is four weeks, rather than a full calendar month in most months. More importantly, one box is not automatically the whole acne treatment course.

NICE recommends reviewing first-line acne treatment at 12 weeks, including improvement and side effects. Oral antibiotics should not be used alone for acne. The clinician decides whether to stop, continue or change treatment alongside the topical plan; purchasing more capsules should not make that decision for you.

The NICE acne recommendations explain those review principles. Ask at the outset what the review will involve and how the other prescribed products are supplied. That gives a more realistic budget than a capsule-only monthly price.

If you move provider, share what you have taken, for how long, your response and any adverse effects. Starting another assessment should not erase the time already spent on an antibiotic.

Comparing the complete acne service

Our acne service assesses symptoms and treatment history before recommending an option. The lymecycline information identifies the listed capsule pack. Neither a stocked product nor a favourable price establishes that an oral antibiotic is appropriate.

Before paying, check the exact strength and count, any separate fees, whether a topical medicine is also recommended and when you need a review. Ask how to get advice if acne is worsening, scarring or affecting your wellbeing.

Keep a simple record of your treatment and response. It can make a review more useful and help avoid paying repeatedly for a plan that is not working. Do not share capsules, use leftover antibiotics for another problem or change the course to fit a budget.

Lymecycline safety checks

Tell the prescriber about pregnancy or breastfeeding, allergies and all medicines, particularly oral retinoids such as isotretinoin. Lymecycline is unsuitable in some circumstances and is not for children under 12. Follow the supplied leaflet’s administration and interaction instructions.

Seek prompt medical advice for severe headache with visual changes or troublesome severe diarrhoea. Seek emergency help for a severe allergic reaction. Read the leaflet with your own pack for the full warnings, side effects and advice rather than relying on a price guide.

Lymecycline prices: check the whole quoted plan

Keep the capsule count beside any lymecycline prices you save, and list other prescribed acne products separately. A combined package can cost more while including more treatment. Lymecycline prices alone should never be used to decide whether an antibiotic course is complete or needs extending.

Lymecycline prices: common questions

Are lymecycline prices here for an entire acne plan?

No. The main comparison is for the standalone generic 408mg capsule pack. A clinician may prescribe a topical medicine alongside it, which needs to be included in your overall budget.

Is Tetralysal 300 a lower-strength alternative?

The name refers to equivalent tetracycline content. The branded capsule contains lymecycline 408mg. Ask your pharmacist about the exact product rather than comparing the numbers as different doses.

Can I buy a larger pack to make treatment cheaper?

The quantity must fit the prescribed plan and review schedule. A lower price per capsule is not a reason to prolong antibiotic treatment or avoid a review.

Does The Care Pharmacy have the lowest total here?

No. Dr Fox’s worked total for the matched 28-capsule order is lower in this sample. Confirm current prices and the complete prescribed regimen before deciding.

Discuss acne with a clinician

The Care Pharmacy’s acne service assesses your symptoms, medical history and current medicines before recommending treatment. You can ask about suitable options and their full cost before deciding. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription or supply.
