Compare Elocon cream in matching tube sizes

Elocon prices at The Care Pharmacy start at £14.48 for a 30g tube of 0.1% cream, plus delivery. The same brand also comes in other formulations, so a useful UK comparison keeps cream, strength and tube weight together. Here is what the selected offers actually contain.

The quick answer: the 30g pack prices are tied

The Care Pharmacy and Click2Pharmacy each list Elocon 0.1% cream in a 30g tube at £14.48. Boots Online Doctor lists the same strength and cream size at £22. At our standard delivery rate, one 30g tube has a worked total of £18.47.

For 100g cream tubes, we and Click2Pharmacy each list £22.95. A matching headline is useful, but it does not establish an identical delivered bill. We verified Boots’ free standard delivery; Click2Pharmacy’s applicable shipping charge was not confirmed for these specific orders.

The Care Pharmacy sells Elocon and produced this comparison. The sample comprises our service, Click2Pharmacy and Boots Online Doctor, checked on 16 October 2026. It does not cover the whole UK market, and the figures exclude promotional codes.

Elocon prices for 0.1% cream

Branded Elocon cream · 16 October 2026
Provider 30g tube 100g tube
The Care Pharmacy £14.48 £22.95
Click2Pharmacy £14.48 £22.95
Boots Online Doctor £22.00 Not included in this check

“Not included” means we have not used a matching offer in this table; it does not establish that the service never supplies that quantity. These are the named packs and advertised treatment prices we checked.

Elocon contains mometasone furoate. The 0.1% figure describes its concentration, while 30g or 100g describes how much cream the tube contains. A larger tube contains more cream, rather than a stronger medicine.

Keep ointment and scalp lotion out of a cream comparison. They have different formulations and may suit different areas or skin conditions. A generic mometasone product should also be clearly labelled separately if your clinician recommends it. Similar ingredients do not make every quoted product an identical offer.

The Care Pharmacy £14.48 £3.99 £18.47
Boots Online Doctor £22.00 Free advertised £22.00
Click2Pharmacy £14.48 Applicable charge not verified Not calculated

Our worked total is £3.53 below Boots’ for the matching 30g tube under the terms checked. This is a comparison between those two verified totals, not a claim that we are the cheapest provider in the UK. We have not assigned a zero delivery fee to Click2Pharmacy to complete the table.

Click2Pharmacy includes the consultation and private prescription in its listed treatment price. Shipping still needs checking against the delivery option and address. Look at the final amount before authorising payment, especially if a search result advertises free-delivery options without stating the conditions.

Our standard delivery is free on orders over £40. A single 30g or 100g tube does not reach that threshold. Do not request extra steroid cream solely to avoid a postage charge; the amount supplied needs to match the treatment plan.

When a 100g tube changes the unit cost

At The Care Pharmacy, a 30g tube costs about 48p per gram and a 100g tube about 23p per gram. The larger tube has the lower unit cost, but costs £8.47 more upfront. Unit figures are rounded; use the actual pack price when calculating a basket.

It would take more than three 30g tubes to equal 100g. Three small tubes contain 90g and cost £43.44 in medicine at our listed prices, while one 100g tube is £22.95. This illustrates pack economics without suggesting that anyone needs that much cream.

A tube cannot reliably be called a month’s supply without knowing the area treated, application amount and prescribed duration. Treating a small patch and a larger affected area are different situations. Follow the agreed instructions rather than applying more because a bigger tube costs less per gram.

Check the treatment area before the tube size

Before requesting another tube, be ready to explain:

  • Where the affected skin is and how much of it needs treatment.
  • Whether Elocon was previously prescribed for that same problem.
  • How long you have used it, your response and any irritation.
  • Other steroid creams, inhalers or medicines you currently use.

These details can change what the clinician recommends. A price comparison cannot diagnose a new rash or establish that an old prescription remains appropriate. If your skin has become painful, hot, weeping or rapidly worse, obtain advice instead of simply choosing a larger tube.

The formulation also matters when moving between providers. Keep your old dispensing label or a photograph of the pack so that the name, concentration and cream form are clear. Ask about an alternative before accepting a substitution that changes those details.

Elocon is a potent steroid cream

Elocon is used for certain inflammatory skin conditions, including eczema and psoriasis when prescribed. It is not an acne treatment and should not be used for untreated skin infections. Avoid applying it to wounds, the eyes or areas not agreed with your clinician.

Prolonged use, large areas and covered skin can increase steroid side effects, including thinning of the skin. Face and child treatment need particular restrictions. Do not extend a course, cover it with a dressing or restart repeatedly without advice. Ask about a stopping plan if you have used a potent steroid for a prolonged period.

The Elocon patient leaflet explains full precautions and possible reactions. Seek urgent help for a severe allergic reaction, and ask for advice if irritation or signs of infection develop. Fabrics contaminated with cream can burn more easily: keep away from smoking and naked flames, even after washing.

A repeat supply should fit the review plan

If the cream helped before, tell the prescriber how quickly symptoms returned and whether you finished the planned course. Repeated flare-ups may need a review of the wider skin-care plan rather than an automatic repeat of the same steroid.

Our eczema and dermatitis service explains the assessment route. The Elocon product options show the current cream sizes. Our existing guide to using Elocon covers treatment information in more detail.

Keep the prescribed quantity and total cost in the same note when comparing quotes. If the clinician changes the formulation or amount, recalculate the comparison. An earlier starting price may no longer describe the proposed supply.

Elocon prices: check the final quote

Keep any Elocon prices you save beside the words “0.1% cream” and the tube weight. A price copied without its formulation can become misleading when you return to it later, especially if a search page groups cream and ointment together.

If your prescriber changes the treatment area or duration, confirm whether the proposed quantity still fits. Elocon prices are useful for budgeting for the agreed supply; they should not turn a short course into ongoing treatment simply because a larger tube remains in the cupboard.

Elocon prices: common questions

Are these Elocon prices for cream or ointment?

The tables cover branded 0.1% cream only, with the tube size shown. Ointment and scalp lotion are different formulations and should be compared separately.

Is the 100g tube stronger than the 30g tube?

No. Both contain 0.1% cream. The larger tube contains more of it. The amount prescribed depends on the treatment area and plan, not the lower price per gram.

Does the £14.48 starting price include delivery?

No. Our £3.99 standard delivery gives a worked total of £18.47 for one 30g tube. Confirm the current final amount before payment.

Can I order Elocon for a new rash because it is cheaper?

A new rash needs an appropriate assessment. Elocon is a potent steroid and can be unsuitable for infections or other skin problems. Price does not determine the diagnosis or treatment.

Discuss eczema and dermatitis with a clinician

The Care Pharmacy’s eczema and dermatitis service assesses your symptoms, medical history and current medicines before recommending treatment. You can ask about suitable options, the proposed quantity and the full cost before deciding. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription or supply.
