Compare lansoprazole capsules by strength and full cost

Lansoprazole prices depend on the strength, pack size and formulation. The Care Pharmacy supplies capsules: 28 capsules cost £14.99 for 15mg or £15.99 for 30mg before delivery. This UK guide compares matching capsule packs and keeps dissolving tablets separate, so you can see what each offer covers.

The quick answer: compare matching capsule packs

The Care Pharmacy supplies lansoprazole capsules in packs of 28 at £14.99 for 15mg and £15.99 for 30mg. Standard delivery adds £3.99 to either individual pack, making the totals £18.98 and £19.98 respectively. These are capsule prices; we do not supply the orodispersible tablets compared separately below.

Dr Fox separately lists generic hard capsules and generic orodispersible tablets. Its 15mg 28-pack prices are £5.50 for capsules and £7.80 for orodispersible tablets. The corresponding 30mg prices are £8 and £12.10. Asda lists 28 capsules at £15 for 15mg and £16 for 30mg.

The Care Pharmacy sells lansoprazole and produced this guide. We checked a sample of public offers without discount codes. Dr Fox has the lower capsule price in this sample, including the standard charges shown below. Our 28-capsule pack prices are 1p below Asda’s, but our delivered totals are higher.

The Care Pharmacy: 28-capsule pack prices

Our lansoprazole capsules: 28 per pack · 15 October 2026
Strength Quantity Listed pack price Form supplied
15mg 28 £14.99 Capsules
30mg 28 £15.99 Capsules

Both strengths contain the same active ingredient, but the dose must match your prescription. The Care Pharmacy has confirmed that these offers are for capsules. Manufacturer packaging may vary; that does not turn a capsule offer into an orodispersible tablet offer. Check the dispensing label and read the leaflet supplied with your medicine.

If you have difficulty swallowing capsules, mention this during assessment. The Care Pharmacy does not supply the orodispersible tablets listed below. A clinician can advise on a suitable formulation and its instructions. Do not order capsules on the assumption that they can be used in exactly the same way as dissolving tablets.

Lansoprazole prices for generic hard capsules

Confirmed capsule offers: 28 per pack · 15 October 2026
Provider 15mg × 28 30mg × 28
The Care Pharmacy £14.99 £15.99
Dr Fox £5.50 £8.00
Asda Online Doctor £15.00 £16.00

Read across one strength at a time. A 15mg pack should be compared with another 15mg pack, rather than with a cheaper-looking total for a different quantity or dose. The table shows medicine prices; the delivery and prescription charges below explain what one pack would cost under each provider’s published standard terms.

A higher dose is not automatically better value for treatment. Your prescriber chooses the appropriate strength and duration for your symptoms and history. Do not double a lower dose, halve a higher one or switch formulation simply to reproduce a cheaper price.

Lansoprazole prices for orodispersible tablets

Dr Fox: separately labelled 28-tablet offers · 15 October 2026
Product 15mg × 28 30mg × 28
Generic orodispersible tablets £7.80 £12.10
Branded Zoton FasTab £9.90 £14.20

Orodispersible tablets dissolve in the mouth and are a different presentation from capsules. Zoton FasTab is a branded dissolving tablet, so compare it separately from generic offers.

These figures are advertised pack prices before separately charged prescription and delivery fees. They show the effect of formulation and brand at one provider; they do not establish that any alternative is interchangeable for you or that a particular brand is available at The Care Pharmacy.

Lansoprazole prices with standard charges

One 28-unit order: keep the form label attached · 15 October 2026
Provider and form 15mg total 30mg total
The Care Pharmacy · capsules £18.98 £19.98
Dr Fox · generic hard capsules £9.40 £11.90
Dr Fox · generic orodispersible tablets £11.70 £17.00
Asda · capsules £15.00 £16.00

Our totals add £3.99 standard delivery to the listed packs. Dr Fox adds £2.90 delivery and a prescription fee: £1 on the £5.50, £8 and £7.80 packs, and £2 on the £12.10 pack. Asda advertises free standard delivery.

This table is a set of cost examples, not a single ranking of identical products. The form labels must stay with the amounts. For a 15mg orodispersible prescription, the hard-capsule total should not be used as the cheaper equivalent without clinical agreement.

Our delivery policy offers free standard delivery on orders over £40. These individual packs are below that threshold. The calculations use public standard terms, not completed checkout invoices; confirm the final quote after assessment.

Pack size, duration and repeat budgeting

Twenty-eight capsules cover four weeks only under an instruction of one capsule daily. A treatment course may use another schedule, and four weeks is not a calendar month. Use the actual prescription directions when estimating how long a pack will last.

Dr Fox also lists 56 generic 15mg capsules at £9.20 and 56 generic 15mg orodispersible tablets at £12.50. Those are different quantities from the 28-unit offers above. A lower price per unit can come with a larger upfront purchase and may not fit an early review.

Ask how and when repeat supplies will be assessed. If reflux returns when you stop treatment, discuss it with a clinician instead of automatically budgeting for indefinite repeats. The appropriate next step may involve reviewing symptoms, medicines or the diagnosis, rather than ordering a larger box.

What to ask before switching provider

Have the label from your current pack available. Record the strength, formulation, dose and response, including any difficulty swallowing or side effects. That makes it easier to ask for an equivalent quote and reduces the chance of comparing the wrong presentation.

Our lansoprazole information shows the listed strengths and quantities. The acid reflux service provides the assessment route. Ask about the full cost and follow-up arrangements before deciding whether to request treatment.

If a clinician recommends another reflux medicine, compare its own product and instructions separately. Milligrams across different proton pump inhibitors are not a price-based conversion guide, and buying a different medicine first does not establish that it is suitable.

Symptoms and medicine checks that matter

Difficulty swallowing, unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting or worsening symptoms need medical assessment. Vomiting blood or black stools requires urgent help. Seek emergency help for severe chest pain with features that could suggest a heart problem.

Tell the prescriber about liver problems, allergies and all other medicines. Do not alter ongoing treatment yourself. The NHS lansoprazole guide explains its use and side effects. Read the leaflet for the exact formulation supplied: instructions for a capsule should not automatically be copied to an orodispersible tablet.

Lansoprazole prices: make the final quote specific

Ask for the strength, number of units and exact formulation together when checking lansoprazole prices. “28 lansoprazole” leaves an important detail unresolved if you are comparing capsules with dissolving tablets.

Once the form is confirmed, compare the corresponding offer and add its charges. Lansoprazole prices from a search snippet may describe a different formulation or larger pack. A clear final quote is more useful than assuming that the lowest visible amount covers the product you need.

Lansoprazole prices: common questions

Why are lansoprazole prices split by formulation?

Hard capsules and orodispersible tablets are different presentations with different advertised costs. Keeping them separate prevents an inaccurate like-for-like ranking.

Does The Care Pharmacy supply orodispersible tablets?

No. The Care Pharmacy supplies lansoprazole capsules in the packs compared here. The dissolving-tablet examples belong to another provider and are shown separately. Tell the clinician if you have difficulty swallowing capsules.

Is Zoton FasTab included as a generic?

No. The table labels it as a brand and keeps it separate from generic orodispersible tablets. A brand preference belongs in the assessment.

Can I request a larger pack for repeat treatment?

Ask your clinician which quantity fits your prescription and review plan. A lower unit price is not a reason to continue without the recommended review.

Discuss acid reflux with a clinician

The Care Pharmacy’s acid reflux service assesses your symptoms, medical history and current medicines before recommending treatment. You can ask about suitable options and their full cost before deciding. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription or supply.
