Lansoprazole Price Comparison UK: Capsules and Orodispersible Tablets
Compare lansoprazole prices in the UK. Keep capsules and orodispersible tablets separate, then check pack details and fees.

Omeprazole prices are easiest to compare when the strength and capsule count match. This UK guide separates 10mg, 20mg and 40mg packs, with 28- and 56-capsule options where verified. It also shows why delivery and prescription fees matter more than a headline “from” price.
For 28 generic 20mg capsules, The Care Pharmacy lists £15.99, Dr Fox £9 and Asda Online Doctor £15. With verified standard charges, those examples become £19.98, £12.90 and £15 respectively. Dr Fox has the lower total for that exact pack in this sample.
That finding does not cover every strength, formulation or provider. In particular, we did not verify a matching Dr Fox 40mg offer. A missing figure is not evidence that a medicine is unavailable, and a 10mg price should not stand in for a 40mg prescription.
The Care Pharmacy sells omeprazole and produced this guide. We compared public prices without discount codes or completed purchases. The figures are a dated sample, rather than a UK-wide cheapest-price claim.
| Provider | 10mg | 20mg | 40mg |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Care Pharmacy | £14.99 | £15.99 | £17.99 |
| Dr Fox | £7.95 | £9.00 | Not verified |
| Asda Online Doctor | £14.00 | £15.00 | £18.00 |
Compare the strength prescribed for you. A 40mg pack contains a different dose from a 20mg pack; ask your clinician before changing the strength or course.
These are medicine or treatment-pack prices before separately charged fees. Check whether a quoted offer is for capsules, tablets or a branded product, and whether the stated quantity is a box or a multi-box order. The comparison above is specifically generic capsules.
| Provider | 10mg × 56 | 20mg × 56 | 40mg × 56 |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Care Pharmacy | £26.49 | £27.99 | £31.99 |
| Dr Fox | £11.95 | Not verified | Not verified |
A larger pack can reduce the medicine cost per capsule while increasing the amount paid upfront. For example, our 20mg capsules cost about 57p each in a 28-pack and 50p each in a 56-pack, before delivery. The actual pack prices, rather than rounded unit figures, determine the bill.
Two 28-capsule packs at our listed 20mg price would cost £31.98 in medicine alone, £3.99 more than the 56-capsule option. That is a comparison of pack prices, not a recommendation to obtain 56 capsules. The quantity must match the clinician’s plan.
If you only need a shorter course or an early review, a larger box may not be appropriate. Do not extend treatment simply because capsules remain in a pack or because another delivery charge would otherwise apply.
| Provider | Pack | Separate standard charges | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Care Pharmacy | £15.99 | £3.99 delivery | £19.98 |
| Dr Fox | £9.00 | £1 prescription + £2.90 delivery | £12.90 |
| Asda Online Doctor | £15.00 | Free delivery advertised | £15.00 |
Dr Fox’s £1 prescription fee applies to this £9 medicine order. A different strength or quantity can move an order into another fee bracket, so the same extra charge should not be copied across every pack. Check the published fee for the order you are comparing.
Our standard delivery terms give free delivery on orders over £40. None of the single packs listed above reaches that threshold. The table uses standard charges; premium delivery and changed terms can alter the amount.
These are calculated examples from public terms, not completed checkout invoices. Confirm the selected strength, quantity and total after assessment. An offer is only useful if it is the medicine your clinician recommends.
Losec is a brand of omeprazole. Its price should be labelled as branded rather than used as the expensive end of a supposed generic comparison. We have kept Losec out of the main tables so that the provider rows describe the same kind of medicine.
The same care is needed with products sold for short-term self-care and other proton pump inhibitors. Omeprazole, lansoprazole and esomeprazole have separate prescribing decisions. Their milligram strengths are not a conversion chart, and a lower price does not show which is right for you.
If your prescriber recommends a switch, ask for the exact medicine, formulation, strength and course length before comparing costs. Do not buy a different product first and then try to fit your treatment around the pack. Our omeprazole information identifies the listed options.
A 28-capsule pack lasts 28 days only when your instruction is one capsule a day. Other prescribed schedules give a different duration. Four weeks is also not the same as every calendar month, so use the actual directions when estimating repeat spending.
Keep a record of symptom frequency, medicines already tried and how long you have needed them. If reflux keeps returning, an assessment is more useful than repeatedly finding the cheapest box. A clinician may want to review the diagnosis, dose, duration or need for further checks.
The acid reflux service explains our assessment route. Before changing provider, ask how repeat treatment is reviewed and how to obtain advice if symptoms worsen. Price is one part of that decision, alongside continuity and access to support.
Tell a clinician about difficulty swallowing, unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting or worsening symptoms. Vomiting blood or passing black stools needs urgent medical assessment. New severe chest pain, particularly with breathlessness, sweating or pain spreading to an arm or jaw, needs emergency help.
Omeprazole can interact with other medicines. Tell the prescriber about all treatments, including clopidogrel, and do not change prescribed medicines yourself. The omeprazole capsule leaflet gives full warnings and instructions. The NHS omeprazole guide explains its use and side effects. A price table cannot assess persistent symptoms.
For each offer, record the strength, capsule count, brand status and standard charges. Omeprazole prices can look close until delivery is added, or look far apart because one result describes a larger pack. A written comparison makes those differences easier to spot before payment.
If you already have a prescription or previous dispensing label, use it to identify the product accurately. Check whether the new service is offering an assessment with possible supply or dispensing against an existing prescription. Those are different service arrangements and may have different charges.
When the recommended pack changes after assessment, update the comparison rather than relying on the original “from” figure. Omeprazole prices are meaningful only alongside the treatment actually agreed. An available larger box does not establish that you need a longer course or that another strength can be used in its place.
Keep the final quote with your order information so you can check the strength, quantity and charges when the medicine arrives.
The pack tables show advertised medicine or treatment-pack prices before separate charges. The worked 20mg example adds the verified Dr Fox prescription fee and delivery, and our standard delivery.
Compare the same prescribed strength and quantity. A lower-strength pack is a different supply; do not alter your dose to follow a cheaper offer.
Only your prescribed directions establish how long it lasts. At one capsule daily it covers 56 days, which is eight weeks rather than two full calendar months.
No for the matched 20mg 28-capsule delivered example. Dr Fox is lower in the named sample. Recheck the exact pack and current final total before deciding.
The Care Pharmacy’s acid reflux service assesses your symptoms, medical history and current medicines before recommending treatment. You can ask about suitable options and their full cost before deciding. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription or supply.
Pricing note: Advertised prices checked on 15 October 2026 across the named sample. The Care Pharmacy sells the medicine compared. Prices and fees change; confirm your current total before payment.
